Harvest festival gifts

We have been extremely thankful for so many generous gifts from Harvest Festivals that have taken place at various local schools and churches.

Pictured above is Paul Young with Mike Jee, Headteacher of Aldrington Primary School, and all the students celebrating at Bishop Hannington Church.

Many thanks to Benfield Junior School who also gave us a wonderful supply of food, clothing, drinks and toiletries.

Supermarket Supporters

Off The Fence has gratefully received gift vouchers from local branches of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and The Co-op (staff pictured on the right).

Their kind donations will help us to make a real difference to the lives of the young people in our Safe House.

Charity day at Swedish School

The Swedish Folk High School in Portslade raised £200 for Off The Fence last Friday.

Throughout the day students organised and led fun activities at the 'Loxdale Centre'. There was a bouncy castle for children, cakes and games, and a guided tour of the Victorian mansion.

All the money raised was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Off The Fence. We're very thankful for their support and partnership as we reach out to needy people in our community.

New designs for the 'Women at Risk' base

Overton-Hart Chartered Building Surveyors are kindly drawing up plans free-of-charge for our new Women at Risk advice centre.
The refurbished base will be a welcoming and comfortable place for vulnerable women in Brighton and Hove to meet our staff and volunteers.

Many thanks to Bob Overton-Hart, Director, (pictured on the right) and his team for their hard work and commitment to supporting Off The Fence.

Generous Gift from St Christopher's School

Many thanks to the staff, students and parents at St Christopher's School, Hove, for their huge donation of food, toiletries and clothing to Off The Fence.

Their gifts will make real difference to those who are living in very difficult circumstances in our city.

Swimming Success

A big thank you to the 70 people who supported our Swim Gala night at the King Alfred Leisure Centre on Saturday 29 September. Among the 18 swimmers was 93 year old James Clark who swam an amazing 500 metres! Also participating again this year was Phil Whitaker who reached a staggering total of 286 lengths - that's about 4.5 miles! - and has raised £410 so far.

Thanks also go to Starbucks who generously provided coffee and muffins for our hungry swimmers and spectators.

Event organiser Angela King said, ‘It was a great family night with lots of fun. We're delighted that all the funds raised will help disadvantaged people in Brighton and Hove.'
