Off The Fence are delighted to welcome Hannah, our second new team member this year. Hannah joins Antifreeze, complementing the team and bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.

How has your time as part of Antifreeze been so far?

My first 2 weeks in Antifreeze has been exciting! I am really enjoying my time in the day centre, beginning to build positive relationships with the clients and staff. I have been very welcomed into the team and feel settled into my role already.

Tell us a bit about the role you play in the Antifreeze team and how you came to be here?

I have grown up around ministry for homelessness and seen my parent’s passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of those that are in most need of Love and freedom. This is something that I have naturally been drawn to and apart from that one time when I wanted to be a famous rock and roll singer, I have never wanted to do anything else. I have come from a background of support work with youth homeless housing, mother and baby projects and mental health. I now feel called back into mission at home (Brighton), being able to share God’s glory and goodness to the people I will be supporting. My role in Antifreeze is as a Primary Keyworker. I support our clients with issues including housing, addictions, benefits, self-care, hygiene and wellbeing, mental health, liaising and signposting to other agencies working with homelessness.

What in particular excites you about working at Off The Fence?

I feel blessed to be part of a team that is captivated by the Love and Grace of God and has a deep desire to share this with some of the most vulnerable in our community, and support them to be empowered to have a better quality of life. I am excited to see what opportunities will arise for Off the Fence as we reach a time of going bigger and bolder both spiritually and practically over this next year.

What is your favourite thing about working and living in Brighton?

I love the Summer here! Brighton and Sussex is a great place to explore and have adventures, I find great Joy in living by the sea and country side. I also love the community of Brighton, a bubble of creativity, acceptance and diversity.

What would you say to someone interested in getting involved with Off the Fence?

If you want an adventure with God and have a heart to see the most at need in our society experience God’s Love, freedom and purpose… come get involved!
