A health and hygiene service to those sleeping rough in the city.

Hygiene for All is a new project launched by Off The Fence to ensure the homeless community always have access to their most basic need - hygiene.

The Vision

These vans are a modern and immediate response to addressing some of the issues surrounding homelessness. Hygiene and health are intimately interwoven, and poor hygiene is an inevitable result of homelessness. Establishing proper hygiene is key to a sense of self-worth and better health. This includes regularly brushing teeth, washing hair, washing hands, cleaning with soap, wearing deodorant, having feminine hygiene products, and clean underwear and socks. When people don't have access to these products, many consequences will develop ranging from unemployment to serious diseases. We believe every person has a right to good health and hygiene.

Our Hygiene for All project will work to support the immediate needs of homeless men and women met with on the streets. This project will sit alongside the existing strategy of our Antifreeze project and other agencies Antifreeze work alongside to see individuals housed, employed and supported with many other welfare issues to get them back on their feet. The ultimate aim- to get individuals off the streets and living a fuller, better life.
