Antifreeze Project Manager
We are looking for a charismaticleader,
a strategic thinker and a practising Christian who thrives on achieving the development andsuccess of a motivated and high performing team.
This is a crucial role in the charityand the new manager would bejoining a vibrant team at theimplementation of the next 5 yearplan for Off The Fence.
Salary: £27,495 per annum (salary subject to review April 2024)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, including one evening shift
Holiday Entitlement: 5 weeks per annum pro-rata
Reporting Relationship: To the General Manager and CEO
Responsible for Managing: Antifreeze staff and volunteers
Location: 37 Portland Road but with flexibility to work at other locations in Brighton & Hove
Job Title: Antifreeze Project Manager
Job Objectives: To manage and co-ordinate the day to day running of the Antifreeze homeless centre and night outreach and develop as needed.
Occupational requirement for post holder to be a Christian.
Main duties
Lead Antifreeze in a strategy which will see the Project achieve targets agreed in the five year and one year plans within the Christian ethos of OTF
Direct and manage the work of the project team to ensure that client welfare and the impact on their lives is maximised and OTF’s high profile is maintained across Brighton and Hove
Ensure all Antifreeze projects and activities are carried out in a manner that meets the Charity Commission’s requirements, is compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements and adheres to Christian principles
Be active in network forums with current and prospective leaders in Brighton and Hove (political, local authority and business)
Be answerable to the General Manager and the Board re target achievement on a quarterly basis
Initiate and conduct regular team-building activities
Oversee the day to day smooth running of the day centre and night outreach
Provide leadership, line management and facilitate training for staff and ensure staff receive annual appraisal and regular supervision in line with the Christian culture of OTF
Oversee recruitment, training and supervision of staff and volunteers
Liaise with and establish good working links with other related agencies and attend networking forums
To oversee the Bible study development and share the love of God with clients
Review and develop Antifreeze procedures, in line with OTF policies, and ensure appropriate boundaries are kept between clients, staff and volunteers
Ensure all policies and procedures as directed by head office are implemented within Antifreeze
Oversee the finances within Antifreeze and manage the centre budget
Where required, speak to supporters, churches and organisations about the work of Antifreeze and Off The Fence
Oversee and have responsibility for any refurbishment and maintenance work at Antifreeze Centre and offices
Attend regular supervision and team/prayer meetings
Work some evenings and weekends, as required
Other duties
Assessing service users needs, offering practical, emotional and Christian spiritual support
Participate in support planning for clients, providing housing/welfare/budgeting advice
Liaise with outside agencies in assisting the client in meeting recognised needs
Promoting the independence and self worth of the service users and encouraging them to access education, training or employment
Encourage service users in their development of literacy, numeracy, health and hygiene
Work with service users as an advocate, eg accompanying them to appointments
Ensure a member of staff is present at events that are fundraising for Antifreeze

Person specification
Essential
Be a practising Christian who agrees with the OTF Statement of Faith
Ability to establish an effective vision and sense of direction for the strategic development of the project
Experience of working at mangement level with strong management and leadership skills
Commitment to continuous professional learning and development - personal and team
Degree relevant to management
Ability to network with local agencies/services at all levels
Experience of management and control of a budget including budget preparation and forecasting.
Ability to use internal and external homeless project insights and analysis to inform strategy
Good computer and administration skills
Strong written and communication skills
Ability to work in a team and independently
Have a strong sense of calling to make a difference to the homeless of this City
Current driving licence and access to own vehicle for work
Desirable
Ability to lead client and team worship meetings
Experience of First Aid
Previous experience and knowledge of working with homeless or housed clients
Experience of clients with complex needs and experience of behavior management
Contact or knowledge of local agencies
Experience of 1-to-1 client work
Good knowledge of housing and welfare advice
Experience working with volunteers
Professional qualifications or experience in a related area of work
