Gateway at International Women's Day
What a great (and busy) day!
The International Women's Day Event was held at the Brighton Dome on 9th March and attended by hundreds of women from across the city. The team from Gateway Women’s Centre had a stall and sold tie-dyed tea towels and cards, which the women had made themselves, and made £215! Throughout the day, the team spoke to nearly 200 people about the work of Gateway and Off The Fence.
A number of women were interested in volunteering and supporting Gateway. The team were also able to offer one-to-one emotional support to some of the women visiting their stall, including an opportunity to pray.
The team also enjoyed networking with the police, MPs and all the other women’s projects represented at the event.
The Gateway team also provided a fun craft, and 84 women and children had a go. The atmosphere was friendly, fun, inclusive and several people said the Gateway stall was the best, as it looked so interesting and offered an activity.
The team are grateful to Brighton Women’s Centre for organising the event – we’re looking forward to next year’s celebration!
