Antifreeze Centre Assistant
This important role calls for the following:
• Taking clothes and other items to clients outside who turn up unexpectedly
• Providing similar items for clients who do have appointments
• Giving take-away hot drinks to those outside who arrive without notice
• Providing hot drinks and biscuits in a Covid-safe manner for those with appointments
• Helping wash up and clean up
• Chatting with clients waiting for appointments
We will have one volunteer in a day every weekday including Wednesdays for this particular role and we would need the volunteer to be able to do 1-4pm fortnightly or weekly.
Fortnightly would be a minimum to avoid inconsistency for clients.
Slots available currently are Wednesdays weekly or fortnightly, likewise with Fridays and fortnightly Thursdays. Times above which need to be as close to the above as possible to work.
Mentoring

Role: Meeting with students one to one to provide a listening ear
Frequency: Normally weekly, term time, for one lesson per student
Requirements: Full DBS, complete OTF mentoring training, complete school safeguarding requirements
Skills required: Patience, good listener, supportive, not easily shocked
Location: Secondary schools in BN3
Prayer/Reflection Spaces:

Role:
Setting up prayer spaces (in school but no direct student contact)
Assisting the running of prayer spaces
o Primary: Working with small groups of students
o Secondary: Being available in the space to answer questions
Packing down prayer spaces (in school but no direct student contact)
Preparing resources / printing / cutting (in school’s office)
Frequency: Normally at least once a month
Requirements: Full DBS to be in school
Skills required: Able to communicate with students of all ages (4 – 18), patience, prayerful, team player

Location: Schools within 20 mile radius of BN3
Lunch Time & After Schools Clubs

Role: Playing games, chatting with students, overseeing snacks, quizzes showing movies, sharing Bible stories
Frequency: Weekly, term time
Requirements: Full DBS
Skills required: Fun, able to communicate / connect with students, behaviour management, conflict resolution

Marketing and Events Assistant

This position involves:
4-6 hours fortnightly or weekly
Assisting the Events and fundraising team to set up, promote and staff events. This will involve some weekend work - but also a lot of fun!
Wellbeing Workshop/Course Volunteer

We are looking for women able to deliver a 1h-2h one-off wellbeing workshop on a topic you are skilled or knowledgeable in for a group of women
OR
Deliver a short course (1h-2h per week for a number of weeks e.g. 3-6 weeks) on a topic you are skilled or knowledgeable in for a group of women
Preferred time is Wednesdays 1.30-3pm but this can be negotiated.
Description of Duties: to plan and deliver a one-off workshop or short course. The workshops/ courses are aimed at improving wellbeing. Previous workshops have included Bollywood dance, bread making, first aid, singing, cake decorating, creative writing and stress management. We are always on the lookout for new workshops/ courses that could improve wellbeing. You will require the ability to teach or facilitate the workshop/ course for a group of women, and the ability to write a session plan. You need to be approachable, friendly and non-judgemental with good listening and communication skills.
Support/ Training Offered: A member of the staff team would support you during the session. You would receive brief training on our confidentiality/ boundaries policies.
This role requires a volunteer DBS (provided by us) and two references. Due to the nature of the clients’ circumstances, we require female applicants only.
